Spring term 1

This half-term is proving to be very busy on the sporting front with the Quick-Sticks hockey match a couple of weeks ago and two of our year 4 girls from Class 3 putting on a great show and range of skills in last weeks gymnastics.  This Friday is Sport relief and the children are very busy organising their routines to show off their many talents.

on the 22nd of March they year 5's will be heading off to Thirsk Secondary School for enrichment day.  We have been asked by one of the organisers for the children to bring along a brightly coloured top for the South African music theme which is being organised for them.

On another note, please can children bring a pair of PE socks for PE lessons.

A bit of Christmas holiday work

Class 3 have been doing very well in times table tests this term.  However, there are just a few of the tables which we all need to practice, as times tables are fundamental to all aspects of maths.  These are 6, 7, 8, 9 and 12 times tables.  There are a few interactive websites available which have fun maths games and activities to do.  It would be great for your child to visit these websites and have a bit of fun with their times tables over the Christmas holiday break.

Have a fabulous Christmas from Miss Watson

December 2015

The children had great fun building cars which they powered with the use of an electric circuit inclusive of a motor.  We had great fun racing these.

November 2015

Class 3 have been investigating electrical circuits and how they work in our science lessons this half term.  We plan to build a small car, in teams, using motors, to have a car race

Class 3 felt very honoured to welcome the 4th Regiment marathon runners into school on their final sprint to the finish.  What an inspiration!
